Auto Racing: Darnell’s truck on pole (Ottawa Citizen)

Erik Darnell will lead the field to green for today’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Mountain Dew 250 at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama. In a Ford, Darnell lapped the 2.66-mile oval in 52.687 seconds at 181.753 m.p.h. yesterday to claim his second pole of the season. Rookie John Wes Townsley, Darnell’s Roush Fenway Racing teammate, will start second after posting a lap at 181.563 m.p.h.
